Egyptian horse charity

Hi everyone

My name is Suz and I'm writing to you all from sunny Egypt!

I've helped co-found a registered equine charity in the Red Sea resort town of Hurghada, Egypt, where we rehabilitate and re-home abused and neglected equines throughout the country.

We work on an individual case by case basis. Our most famous rescue has to be Chili, who came to us with a broken leg and had been left on the ground, as for his previous owner he was as good as dead! We rescued the little guy and he has been with us now for 7 months, and has made a remarkable recovery in that time.

We have in the past few months been visited by the Kiwi Care Team, a group of vets and farriers from New Zealand, and will hopefully also be meeting the now infamous Cairo Farrier team in the coming few months!

Hi Suz welcome, I love reading regular updates on your fb, you do wonderful work under difficult circumstances. Seeing those horses go from skeletons to proper horses is so uplifting and to see the light come back into their eyes is truly wonderful.

Just had to post these in here for people who are unfamiliar with Chili. This is his comparison picture, first one taken the day he arrived, second one taken 2 months ago (with winter coat on). The video is from yesterday. This is a horse that when he arrived couldn't walk, and could barely stand. He was a case of touch and go for many weeks, and we often struggled with the decision of should we put him down or not. But he's a fighter, and look at him now.

And him walking, I'm pretty sure if I'd encouraged him just a touch, he'd have broken into trot!!
