Please excuse me if this sound harsh whatever, been having one of 'THOSE' days!

Last night I ordered something off Robinsons at about oh 11:45pm, was browing on line kinda late and found what I had origionally been looking for cheaper else where, so cancelled Robinsons order via my Account page, and ordered the goods else where.

Got an automated email from them at the time I cancelled the order.

THEN got an email today at like 2pm saying the CAN'T cancel the order as it is already being packed!!!!!!

Do they not look at cancelled orders BEFORE they start packing them??!?!?! The only way I can get my money back is to refuse the order, or I will be liable for like £8 to return the friggin stuff! But its coming ot my work, and they accept everything in bulk from the delivery drivers

If its any help, i used to get books sent to me from a book club which i didnt want and a solicitor told me that i should tell them it is unwanted goods and they had to dollect it and if they didnt i could keep it and i have left it in the rain so they had better hury up. I would print off your order, cancellation and email from them so you have proof and then tell them to bu**er off
 
OMFG!!!

I just did a HUGE order with them, and forgot to add one tiny thing, and it wouldnt let me amend my order, so i cancelled old order and did a new one..........


I hope they don't send me two parcels......
 
did u cancel it tonight??? Call them first thing in the morning!! I did n;t think I would have to as they have a 'cancel order' button on the website.........................obviously doesnt do what it says on the tin!!

I still cant get over how their system obviously doesnt flag up cancelled orders when they look at it in the morning, then they go "oh, look, that ones cancelled lets NOT pack it"

I am sorry but seriously - slight muppetism!

(I bet they will send me a parcell full of poo now!!)
 
well, after hearing what happened to you I emailed them to verify what I'd ordered, and what I'd cancelled. Just had an email back from them confirmingh they have this info and have taken it on board.

So the moral of the story is...if you have to cancel and order, email and or phone them to confirm it!!
 
Yeah in hind sight I see that....................just stupidly thought that since it said THEY would contact ME they would check all cancellation emails BEFORE they started processing orders..........bit like I do at my work!!!

Common sense ya see!

I did email saying that I thought the website was misleading having a cancel order button that does not in fact cancel orders, and that there was no information on cancellations, only returns and refunds.

Also pointed out that at te time I clicked that cancel order button I was within the Distance selling regulations time for cancelling as the order had not PHYSICALLY started to be packed.

They are a good store, they just need to rethink how they handel cancellations, I have cancelled in the past with no problems what so ever(and a longer time after I had placed the order), so thats mainly why I am so pissed off this time.
 
i dont use robs any more as i thought they were descending into muppetdom...the last twice ive tried ordering theyve had almost nothing in, and ordering a new hat and boots ive been offered alternative sizes (!) as they dont have my size in
 
Same thing happened to me just before christmas. Luckily I just wanted to order more stuff, so I still needed the things I'd ordered. But it did annoy me because I might have really wanted to cancel the order! I'm trying to avoid online shopping in general at the moment. It might be cheaper, but only if you don't have to return the stupid things!
