Missed it.
Hopefully it was pulled as-and I did not read the thread so could be wrong-someone pointed out that asking for any old broodmares means that all they get is another crop of substandard, no breeding no real need for foals in several months.
Flipping Nora, it seemed to me that the person had had a genuine problem breeding her own foal and wanted a baby to bring on so was asking where she could buy one with foal at foot, not to breed from again... It does irritate me when people are so obvious asking 'how much would you advertise this horse for' and get away with it and all she seemed to be doing was asking where to look for what she wanted to buy! Bit of a hypersensitive reaction to pull the thread in my opinion
Or with a foal at foot and specifically said mare would have a home for life and not be bred from I hope it was a genuine post and she finds what she's looking for.
Ah but its all about how you write the post!
You must always start with :
'I'm not advertising I'm just wondering what would you pay for a horse who (go on to write what is clearly an advert and add a few pictures for good measure)'
OR....
'I'm selling my horse, could you please help me with the wording of my advert for my horse who (go on to write a list that is clearly an advert and add a few pictures for good measure)
OR option 3
'I'm selling my horse, what website would you advertise a horse who (go on to write a list that is clearly an advert and add a few pictures for good measure)
Sorry if I got the jist of the original thread totally wrong, I'm one of the 'No need, don't breed' brigade, be that in horses, cats, dogs or people.
I totally agree woopsii, sometimes you need a bleeding guide book to come on here, apparently the op had tried to breed a foal but lost it due to complications and just wanted to give a home to a mare and foal... I suspect without all the complications, hassle and worry of breeding... There was a bonnie little mare and foal on dragon driving, If it was closer I don't know if I'd have been able to sit on my cash, it came up in another thread the other day and the bloke was asking and I quote "dog money" bleeding heartbreaking, less than £400 for the pair and she looked a cracker as did her colt, hopefully someone will snap her up... I absolutely HATE the fact that there are so many unwanted horses out there and there are eejits continuing to breed for a non existent market
Is the OP of that thread not one of those who has numerous horses through her hands in which case I'd doubt any mare has a home for life or am I confused with someone else?
Thanks queenbee, yes my ad was pulled as it was seen as advertising. Tfc told me off
yes my mare had lost her foal and I wasn't perpaired to put her back in foal. That one on dragons driving is sold hopefully to a good home. I would NOT be putting the mare back in foal so a older mare who could retirer after would be fine, I'm totally against breeding as well but would love the chance a bring up a foal off my own and don't see any harm with this as I wouldn't have any other foals from her but not perpaired to send a lot off money as both would be kept.
This might get me another telling off.
