Ive just got my autumn newsletter through and am contemplating doing a couple of training days and possibly a spring camp to kick start my season. Is anyone else planning on doing any and would you recommend being at a certain level before you go?

Would not be too worried about the level - at most I have been to there have been people not even out eventing yet and a lot at the 80/90 level.

I may do some but being oop north we don't have too many to pick from and a couple of the ones I did want to do clash with something else - always the way!

I have had some good lessons through them and some not so good as a lot depends on the group you are put with as it is always hard to match people on paper and personally I much prefer to be pushed in my training than left well within comfort zone.

I've got no holiday left or this year so will def have to wait until 2012 but I would LOVE to go away with the pone. Would be better if I wasn't a complete loner though :p

By the start of 2012 I would hope we would be pretty much consolidated at 90 and going for 100 in the SJ anyway...

Well you and super swot mally (;) ) will prob be in the class above us :p But would be fab if we could all go to similar ones.. At least then I'd 'know' some people!

(ps have just added you on FB if you get a random friend request!)

Got it and accepted, as soon as I saw the first pic in your siggy on there I knew who it was :D

Mally is the swot, I'm the nervous nelly who sits on board and shuts her eyes, so we stay in the smallest groups we can manage :D

:D

Well that makes two of us then... Although I'm hoping well be doing ok at disco (not necessarily stylish but effective ;) - me not him!) by that stage but you never know what may happen...!

I would really recommend them I'm already looking at the calendar thinking of which ones to book
As DHB says you always risk getting in the wrong session in any group lesson but at least on the camp ones if you are in the wrong group there's other opportunities to swap before your next lesson
There were horses yet to compete be80 level and ones experienced at intermediate at summer camp and I think everyone had fun so I'd say defiantly go for it!

Is the camp at Parkend? If so is excellent and as Langside said if in wrong group to start you will get moved pretty quick! Lots of fun but watch out for the drink fuelled evenings . especially if your lesson is early on in the morning.

do it do it do it! i think the best thing is to just be honest on your enrollment form and i find that i have normally been grouped appropriately. I'll be at the tracey newman camp in march :D wanted to do the park end camp with charlotte and richard c but already doing a camp at richards end of feb and thought 3x camps in 3x weekends was maybe a bit much!

(especially as i will hopefully also be going to the award winners camp too if the dates don't clash with work stuff!!)

I have always wondered about joining but never really had the bottle to do anything so thought what’s the point (plus i wouldn't know anyone!!) I am now confident over 90cm tracks in both SJ and XC and would love to do a camp! The dates are not on the website...what’s on, where and when??? Thanks!

I haven't received my newsletter yet, and the dates aren't on the website :stampsfeet:

I've not got my newsletter yet either :(
Did get an email with the dates though they are not all in date order not sure if they will copy and paste?
