We have sold a horse that is going any time soon, but the bloody thing has some how got black bitumen paint on her shoulder and neck. What can we use to get it off?
Don't want to use white spirit in case it bleaches her. Would a proper paint cleaner/remover work?
I don't think I can send her to her new home wearing it.

Opps!!!

Sorry no helpful suggestions.

If you mix an oil based paint stripper with neat fairy liquid that should remove the majority then rinse thoroughly and apply a thin layer of vaseline to prevent any excess burning the skin for a couple of hours. This is what we use at the surgery if we get ducks, swans in etc with same problem.

Well the stables were re painted two weeks ago but the black is only knee high so I'm not sure how she managed it.

Great thankyou. I'll give that a go tomorrow.

if you can get to hairdressers, they have a solution to get ahir dye off skin...i think you can also buy it from sallys...this has saved my butt many a time...in particular when i spilt leather dye on a yellow leather sofa.....

hehe when my ellie did that i had to use white spirit. It didn't bleach her (yes I know she is grey but her arse used to be very dark steely grey) lmao looks like we have geious horses

Speaking from experience of one small grey pony, one small white dog and one small nephew with a paint brush (who knew nothing about it!) all being covered in bitumen paint - baby oil works a treat!
