Eland Lodge Adult Camp

Hi - Happy New Year to all

I've seen the Adult Camp advertised on the Eland Lodge website and just wondered it anyone had been and had any feedback/reviews.

Thanks

K

I went last year for the first time and it was so much fun! I met some lovely people and we have met up a few times with our horses since. As soon as the camps came on the website, we set up a group chat and the three of us had booked within 30 mins to go on the 7th to 9th August camp and be in the same group. The only disadvantage I had was being a last minute booking so I ended up in a group with people who were amazing at dressage (which myself and pony are rubbish) but weren't so keen on jumping which myself and pony love. However my group were lovely and instructors tried hard to accommodate all our needs! The food is amazing and I'm veggie and was well catered for. Most people slept in trailers/ lorries so lots of drinking wine in the evening! I'm lucky as I'm five minutes down the road so very convenient for me but my one friend is travelling from South Yorkshire. It is definitely worth the money!

Been a few times.

Brilliant!

Good instructors, interesting demos, excellent food (cake!), lovely people.

Good for any level as the instructors will go at the individual's level. You can bob out if you want and watch or take it slower.

People who have been... Would it be something suitable for a youngster?

Flying circus that'd be fab
Several people last year was on youngsters and were suitably catered for :-)
I went on my own and met so many lovely people! The facilities at Eland are brilliant! The arena surface is incredible, the x country course ranges from mini which is around 70cm to 80/90/1m plus courses. There are also showers which are down by the shop and toilets by the stables. There are also some electric fenced pens on the grass so horses can have a munch! I'm going to take my own posts and tape to make my own pen so pony can have as much turnout during the day as possible.

Thanks for the feedback everyone - I did look at the website and the facilities look really good. Will update the thread if I decide to book - would be nice to meet some fellow forum users!

This looks interesting! The website says suits all abilities, would a 40 something novice on a numpty cob be out of place? We are having lessons and due to start jumping this week for the first time in 20 years!

Hiya, just spoke to those running it. Think I'm going if I can get it off work. She said it's fine for those who have never even jumped before so I'm sure we would both fit in!

I'm booked into the August Camp with my cob. My friends going with her Welsh D, we are really looking forward to it.

Will see you there :-) Just need to get my ginger, psycho back jumping as she had steroid injections for Sacroiliac issues in Nov and is having ongoing treatment for ulcers! I'm planning on some small grid work for next few weeks and then maybe a clinic up at Eland in Feb :-)
