thinking of entering this next week. has anyone been round it before.

Just wondering what the xc course is like, any ditches/banks/water (horsey doesnt like any of them...) and if it is fairly easy, or technical, as I have never done a ODE before.

i LOVE LOVE LOVE Eland Lodge conne hates ditches annd guessing its the mini ODE they have a small ditch that isnt scary and back and water there is a drop into the main water then a simple water which you ride threw.

The course is lovely and inviting, the mini course is really simple, you should have no probs trust me if i got connie to go over the pre - novice fenches whilst she was enjoying it you should have no problem.

Hope that helps charlee+connie

P.S they have a website

Is a lovely venue. We are going I think. We did the intermediate HT there and rode really nicely. there is a ditch, and also steps, but dont think the steps will be in the mini

I love that venue, it is my horses happy hunting ground. Whenever something goes wrong, we go back there! I think there is a ditch in the mini, it is about the width of a trotting pole, but they dont always put it in. There is water but its just a splash for the babies, and instead of the steps you walk down a hill! I think!

I'm fence judging the ODE BTW, and be warned that I have ny own personal scoring system!

Lol!! Are you open to bribes?! And if so, can you make sure you are judging the water!?

Yes, but the 2 water splashes are easy. I would be more worried about the Pheasant Feeder, Brick Kiln, or Broken Bridge!

Nah we've already jumped those no problems! Pony doesnt like dropping into water....

Its black flagged.

I probably will get an easy jump as I am judging solo.

AH yes, hoped it would be! The hunter trial black flag meant we picjked up penalties but least with a ODE all i have to do is make up time!

Hmm, should be on web page!?

Mini is Not exceeding 70cm and dressage test BE 100

Nov is 2'3-2'6 and dressage test BE 101

Intermediate is 2'9-3' (90cm) and is over their introo ODE course. BE test 102

Open is 105cm (PN) and is BE test 111.

Contemplating doing either the Nov or intermediate as a warm up for Aston!

ETS this was taken off their web page, you can enter over the phone!

I was actually talking about the mine ODE...

ditches and water, my horse hates both, altho mini ditch might be alright, forcing him to ruin his nail polish is a different matter

So dare I ask what other jumps might I come across on the XC... I have my entry form sat in front of me, just wondering if I should send it off..... (me and horse both big wimps!)

just had another look....

Oh my, I dont think my horse will go over all of them. I might however!

Oh well have sent entry off now, so I'm going!

I hope so!!! We I will be the one who is on a 17 hand bay TB... either running off with me, or rearing at the water!

although they do late entries for an extra £2, if there is space.

But just of on a tandom, will I have to plait up

, and can my "groom" warm my horse up whilst I comtemplate my fate (sorry walk the xc course), cant really go before as to far away from home

Barring last minute changes, I am on the hanging log between the sunken road and the brick kiln. Very open the elements and no way I can get the car up there, but I get a good view of most of the course.

About a mile from the loo and food vans through!
