I'm looking in to buying a pair of Carl Hester's Fantastic Elastic Reins for Taz to help him to stop being so resistant and leaning so much, i currently ride him in a loose ring myler snaffle which helps with the leaning slightly but he is still very stiff and resistant, saw the reins at your horse live and wasn't to sure about them but i never had enough money left to get them, i've only heard good things about them, and things similar to them from other people, and was just curious as to wether i could ride with them on in a dressage test or not. Doesnt really matter if i couldnt, as i'd just warm up in them and swap to normal reins before the test which is what i do with bits at the moment.

Any advice to stop him leaning etc and on the reins would be greatly apprieciated.

no they arent dressage legal - and you cant use them in warmup either as you can only use in your warm up whats legal for the test - they are good but expensive - you can get some inserts off ebay that are cheaper search for flexi rein i think

thanks i'll have a look on ebay for the flexi reins, woops i always warm up for dressage in a non dressage legal bit then swap about 15 mins before i go in for my test :S wont be doing that at big shows this season haha
