Electric fence energiser recommendations please

As title.... I'm looking to purchase an electric fence energiser to replace the one I had stolen, but there's so much choice and I don't really understand the voltage etc. It will run off a 12v leisure type battery and power approx 4 acres of fencing.

Hotline are great - just google and you will see websites that show you which ones power enough to cover 4 acres

I'm v happy with my Hotline fencers - 1 is a CP500 and the other a CP250.
One is around 8 yrs old (the 250) , the other less than a year & both run off leisure batteries, with the odd car battery back up on changeover for charging.

I do keep an eye on them in very dry weather, as with all fencers they need to be earthed well, so I make sure a bucket of water is trickled down the earthing stake when hot/dry.

I have 4.5 acres and use these 2 seperately as animals are in sperate paddocks. Just make sure you keep 'greenery' off the tape etc and this shorts it out and drains battery quickly. One CP500 will run the complete boundary fence tape tho if required.

I like the speedrite ones from Rappa best, most of them have a visual LED display showing you how much charge is left - very good with escapologists,

However, they may be too nice if you are favoured by the light fingered brigade in your area....
