I've used electric fences to split off paddocks before - just using the tape and the temporary posts.
However in our new field I would like to add some more permanent electric fence around the perimeter to stop one of the horses from damaging the fence as he likes to lean over them.
The fence is post and rail, approx 4' high. I'm thinking that the tape will blow too much and contact the wood.
I'm thinking of using polywire or polyrope around the perimeter on 200mm offset insulators.
Any thoughts on polywire Vs polyrope Vs metal wire.
Do you literally just tie it to the insulator at the far end or are there end pieces to use? Does it need tensioning?
Anything else to consider?
Thanks
