What a palaver!

I’ve tried soaking the earthing Rod - nothing! In the end I put my battery and energiser in the car and took it to the shop I bought the energiser from. Energiser wasn’t pulsing and they tried it on a brand new battery in the shop and it still wasn’t pulsing so they have sent it away to be looked at/replaced.

My neighbour offered to lend me their spare energizer - great, I thought but it was showing the same red light as mine. (Both are Gallagher B60s) which suggests the problem is actually the battery 😡

Battery reads as fully charged but has the snowflake symbol showing (whatever that means?) neighbour said if charger is charging old leave it on all night anyway so that’s what I’ve done in the small hope it’s charged in the morning.

Losing patience with it now! Any tips on what the ❄️ means (presumably cold but it’s so warm here?!) greatly appreciated!

Mr F says it sounds like the battery has been completely drained . In order too avoid damage to the battery it needs to be recharged on a trickle charge ( ie very slowly ! ) which sounds like what is happening . Depending on your charger it can take a couple days - some have a function that speeds things up when the charge reaches a certain level , some don't. You just have to leave it to get on with it !

I do not know what battery you have but if you let a normal car battery discharge then they will loose their ability to recharge. However a leisure battery (available from Halfords) can be re-charged if it runs down. I would suggest that you but two brand new batteries and a new battery charger so that you always have a spare fully charged battery ready and available for use while the other battery is being charged up.

Thank you! It’s been on charge for almost 24 hours, I’ll keep it in charge then! I’m guessing I’ll know it’s charged when the symbol with the arrows completely goes,

Peter Natt - it’s a Leisure battery

DO NOT LET THE BATTERY GO FLAT, charge it every week or sooner if needed, it only costs pennys and your battery will last longer.

You see when I bought it at Halfords they told me a leisure battery should not be recharged and it would last 18 months. I thought that was odd at the time!
