Hey, I have a 9v electric fencing battery and have just been given a used solar panel that a relative no longer has use for. He used it originally for the lights down the garden but has just had electricity connected.

I don't want to blow up my horses or anything, so I'm wondering, can this only be used on a car battery or can I wire it to my 9v battery? I realise these are disposable, but I also know my dad charges disposable AA and AAA batteries when he's run out!

This is what I'm currently using;

Yea i have electric fencing that works fine, I just didn't know if I could put the solar panel on the battery that's currently inside it.

I could put a car battery on it but its so much easier with the little disposable inside rather than lugging a big battery about

You could probably run the energiser off the solar panel during the day and the dry battery at night if you can be bothered swapping them over. My energiser runs off the solar panel (ie no battery) during daylight hours.
