Electric fencing Energiser

At work the energiser when connected makes a quiet high pitched continual sound- you dont even notice it really

Our new one however makes a louder high pitch noise for a few seconds followed by a click over and over. Our field backs onto a ladies garden and i am keen not to annoy or fall out with her. If this was a continual noise in my back garden i would be very irritated!

Is there a short somewhere? I dont get why its "eeeeeeeeeeeee" Click "eeeeeeeeeee" Click!

but dont know a huge amount about fencing either so it may be fine and i may just have to move it to the other side of the field!

That's what mine do (portable one and mains one) It is the sound of the charge building and discharging as far as I know.

If you can hear the WIRE clicking when you are near it, it (wire) is probably shorting, but the energiser noise sounds normal to me

ah, ok well thats fine! I was unsure it was working properly. As for the level of noise i suppose all makes are different and mine happens to be loud!

Ours doesn't make any sound at all other than a slight 'ticking' as the light flashes on and off (mains), our portable one didn't either and I have never come across one that does make a noise. Would be interesting to know if you have the same make OP and CM, now I'm wondering if mine is broken or something!

We have 3 at the yard - one makes a click when the light flashes (not the connection clicking, it's the unit), one beeps every few seconds and the solar one doesn't make any noise that I've heard.
