I am thinking of purchasing a system when I move (if I can scrape together the money) but I need to know it works 100%, absolutely no doubt, even when there is a greyhound one side and a cat the other

No idea - but just read some of the customer reviews and it can keep in a lab and a terrier so must be pretty good - give them a call and see if they know of people using it on greyhounds?

Failing that go for old fashioned horse electric fencing or sheep fencing - works on all the dogs here......

Mmm, not sure what the cat's chances would be!! My greyhound is respectful of any fencing (he ran head-on into a barbed wire fence when I just got him!!) BUT, when the local wildlife decide to visit he seems to forget his fear...RIP baby deer and countless bunnies........I think it may be an expensive mistake, unless you can get in on a trial basis and find a brave enough cat??!!

I have one across my front garden all 200m of it. Pain in the arse to set that much wire in the ground unless you have one of those gadgets. My dogs DO respect it, but, I wouldn't guarantee that any dog in full chase mode wouldn't gallop straight through. I know that my greyhounds wouldn't take a blind bit of notice, anything small and fluffy and infront equalled brain shutdown. (I loved them dearly, but my bunch were not the brightest of creatures)

Electric tape on the other hand stops most things (apart from my horses) my GSDs don't have the gumption to simply leap over anything, but again, greyhounds are pretty effective hurdlers, but they would never just wander across it without a reason.

I guess it is like everything, some do, some don't.

Hmmmm I am doubting that black greyhound in full cry would stop for anything TBH

She is obsessed with murdering cats

Perhaps not this option then

I can see I will be begging for a fence to be put up

Hmmmmm. Back to the drawing board perhaps then.

6' wire mesh, infact, just move your trailer into a tennis court that should do the trick.

You'd need electrified razor wire, sirens and armed guards the other side though, because we all know that cats have this curiosity thing going on and just HAVE to climb the fence because in their minds they are indestructible, invisible and mistakenly believe their own propaganda crap about having 9 lives. Why do they do that? My hounds lived in a walled backyard, talking 10' high here, the cats walked around the edges taunting them, then, I swear they'd play chicken across the yard, or would fall off the wall, and occasionally one would meet his maker!

I'm not convined it would stop a greyhound on pursuit of murder. There is a house near us that has this type of fencing and it doesn't stop their dog crossing it on the way out, but the dog won't return home as it knows it will get a shock as it tries to recross the 'line'.

One of my greys hates cats with a vengence and would do anything to get hold of one and I don't think 1000 volts would stop her when chasing. If you did try out the fencing I think I would be muzzling the hound to be on the safe side.......
