I am moving house and yard this week and have found a box in the store room that contains a brand new with tags electric groomer. It was given to me by a friend and has never been used. I have googled it and to my amazement they retail in the US for $363!!
I'm not sure that I will ever use it, although I might give it a try later but it just seems a shame to bin it. Do you know anyone who uses this kind of thing??? :D:D

Keep an eye on ebay, we bought one a couple of years ago and there was a frenzy of bidding on it, so in answer to your question I would say Yes, people do use them! My OH uses ours all the time and loves it but then he is old school and just expects his horses to accept this sort of thing without argument - for some reason they just do (if I tried it on one of the ponies without desensitisation they would go mental!!).

Oh god yes, i am always looking on ebay trying to find one, but they make a lot of money, and out of my price range at the mo.
Having a yard of 1 horses i do not have time to give a full groom to all each day as well as riding and everything else, so am looking for one hoping it wall save me a bit of energy

OK I have listed it on ebay......one less thing to move house with next week!!!!

Ooooh goody

*Slopes off to take a look on eBay* :D

Okay, found it. Is it just a blower (as in to dry the hair) or does it suck too???

I can remember the first equestrian job I had in 1970 they had an electric groomer that I wouold say was the early version of the Flextol CB45 rotary groomer. It was truly brillient. Really got horses clean.

Thanks for this thread because I'd not been able to find them on the internet as I didn't know the name.

I am now saving hard. As mine live out 24/7 it takes a bath to get them clean for a show and I don't like bathing them too often.

It just blows, hot and cold air. :)

Oh right. I guess I just assumed an electric groomer would suck to remove the dirt from the coat. Does blowing alone work? Or is the one on eBay more of a horse dryer? Sorry, just not sure how these groomers function :)
