any ideas of how much it would cost to have an electricity supply put in a yard?

we have overhead cables across our field and there is a ``step-down ?` box about 50ft away from our yard that suppleis the house next door.

How long is that piece of string, just ask for an estimate from your supplier, it might well be thousands. what about an alternative source?

Ring and ask for an estimate. My guess would be between £800 and £1500 (well thats what they quoted me).

I had electric laid on about 5 yrs ago and it was connected from a mains approx 100ft away. It was £10k just to get electric into the yard and another 3k or so for all the light fixtures n fittings.

I did have a heavier duty cable laid for when I build some more so that was a little extra. Expensive but the best thing I did as I don't think you can realistically faff around with generators and solar this n that on a yard especially in winter when it gets dark at half three.

when i asked for an estimate a while ago,they wanted forms filling and grid ref`s etc,i just wondered what other people paid.

our water was a few hundred £ and we were expecting more.
