am i being dense? :o

I've always used tape before, but set up a fatty paddock for my yesterday using new leccy rope i got and discovered my mini was out at 3am:roll eyes: having investigated , it seems the battery is fully charged, the energiser is working but when i clip it onto the rope it doesn't pass a current through it:confused:

help!

one small grumpy pony now shut in the stable until i can fix this!

All should be working but I would check on a couple of things. The clip that you have attached to the rope, use a strong 'crocodile clip with teeth on it. That way the teeth should dig into the rope & make a good contact with the wire strands that run through the rope. Secondly ensure that your earth is pushed well into the ground, they say the earthing rod should be about 3' long & ensure the earth clip makes a good contact. I presume that you've made sure the rope isn't running through foliage/long grass etc that can earth the fence?

If after doing all this it still doesn't work then I have no idea what's wrong. :)

mine was doing this - check inside the croc clips that the wire is pushed right in - my battery was working but nothing going through - found wire into croc clips was slightly pulled out !!

thanks guys - after 2 hours, yes 2 blurry hours  i discovered when i was putting the cover on the battery after connecting it all, it was knocking the earth clip off:rolleyes::o
