hi does anyone else get an electric shock it you take your horses rug off or you are grooming your horse and then touch it and you get one its soo annoying

yes i use diluted clothes softener and spray it on as i take the rug off stops me and the horse being zapped

Yeah not to mention sore, the shetland acts like I tried to kill him. It takes ages to coax him back to me even when he's tied up!

It is (I would hope!) a static shock rather than an electric shock!
If you have a cotton summer sheet as the bottom rug, this will help eliminate the problem. Also removing the rug more slowly may sort out the problem. Leather soled shoes will also assist.
It is something to do with two items are rubbed together they exchange atoms - when they are moved apart one is positively charged and the other negatively. Like rubbing a balloon against your jumper and it then sticks to the wall.
