Has anybody got one? I’m really considering getting on as it would make taking hay/water/rug/feed to the fields so much easier. It would also make poo picking less back breaking and more enjoyable. Our land is mostly on a hill so I think it would be a useful piece if equipment, just not sure what to go for… it seems the ones with two wheels are better as otherwise you have to still pick up and hold the weight of the ones with one wheel which sort of defeats the object! I like the look of this but admittedly it’s a bit more than I’d like to pay and I want to be really sure before parting with that kind of money.

Alternatively if anybody has any thing second hand they no longer require and want to pm me about I’d be happy to go down that route too.

My other option is of course a quadbike but I’m reluctant as last one was stolen and I can’t find anything available that’s good as just a cheap runaround at the moment.

My friend has a little quad type thing but it has a bit on the back like a truck so you don't even need a trailer with it, its brilliant she mucks out into it and then just drives it to the muck heap, does all the poo picking on it she said you can pick them up for about £1,500, I've been looking for one myself but not seen one as yet.

I have a Sherpa power barrow and love it! I have back problems and this makes my life so much easier when poo picking and moving things about. The capacity is large too so can fit loads in and despite the slight hill of my fields it pulls like a train even when full and rutted surfaces.

The only downside I’ve found is the tipping. I have to tip from a height to enable the tipping bit to empty but I’ve sussed that out now!

I bought mine second hand from Facebook marketplace.

Some people I worked for had i believe this exact one. We used it to poo pick the fields.
It does of course make pushing easier (but it’s quite slow)
It’s not good in mud. It’s fairly difficult to empty because it just doesn’t tip quite high enough. You have to get a shovel to get the last bit.
The back wheel gets jammed up but that’s mostly just in mud and is unpicked with a hood pick.

I have a Matki one. It's a bit slow but you can get more in it, so fewer trips to the muck heap. Same problem as above post with emptying it. However, it does a good job of saving my back and neck, particularly on the steeper bit of my field and when it's wet.

My main worry is that it says 20% gradient and I have a feeling that ours are a little bit steeper than that but coming back uphill the barrow will be empty so shouldn’t such a problem. 🤔 hmmm I think I’ll keep doing some research, thanks guys!

The one I used coped well with a steep part of the field as long as it wasn’t too full.

I refurbed an old Westwood lawn mower with a trailer for shunting stuff around the garden - mainly logs. It pulls well, deals with little inclines even in the woods where the going is poor and starts reliably, but won't go more than 4mph.

TBH I did it more as a mechanical project than anything (nothing to lose since it was totally dead), but it's quite useful.
