My horse was shod 4 weeks, the farrier re-shod her on Friday and left the above sentance on my invoice. So I called him he said how was she going, feeling etc I said she's been going great, feeling fab, jumping well etc. Which he said oh because she was showing signs on laminitis (as above). However as there were no other signs I should not worry about it.

I have opted to change her diet though to a higher fibre and less starch/ sugar.

She is being re-shod in 4 weeks and I am hoping her feet will be normal. I was really worried when he told me, but he re-assured me not to be. So what would you guys do in this situation?

She is a 15.3 warmblood, very fit, not too fat, not too thin. Out for couple of hours few times a week. Exercised 6 days a week (1 hour schooling or 30mins lungeing 4 days a week) 1 day competing or lesson, 1 day hacking (2 hours)

her ffet tend not to grow, but her heels have not collapsed, she has been tracking up in trot more than normal, walk she always overtracks. She is always reluctant to go forward for flatwork but to jump she gets very keen and out hacking she is a dream - lovely forward active in walk and trot

Well that all sounds OK really. As long as the heels do not collapse and there is no pulse in her feet then everything should be ok.

I will clearly keep a close eye on it and as said we are changing feeds so it is higher fibre and less concentrates

I had the same with my boy a few months back...he had had an abbcess that was all treated and 2 weeks later the farrier came and said that he had 'had a twinge of lami'...never had before ever and vet had not picked up on it! He said not to worry but aim to get some weight off him and exercise more etc etc. The signs of lami will stay there for a bit as the laminae die off in the hoof and have to grow out. So when my boy was re-shod 7 weeks later the farrier showed me the black marks in the hoof he trimmed off where the lami had been in his toe.
It will take a while to grow out but if you are thinking of changing feed, just do it really gradually over 2 weeks if I were you. You might want to weigh tape weekly too so you know when she is gaining in weight.
It is difficult because other than being hopping lame with the abbcess, my boy had not given me any signs of sore feet at all in many months before!
