Elementary 44 or 49?

Could somebody please tell me what each test involves and which would be best as a first Elem test.

Doing either or for a combined training competetion, just need to know roughly what to expect from the two tests, then I can decide if I should enter or not

Elem 44 -
Some 10m circles and half circles in collected trot
Medium trot
6 second halt about halfway through the test
Working canter from walk, then a 5m loop in from the track in working canter
Change of leg through trot over X

I have no idea what's in Elem 49 though, and my BD test folder is at the yard.

i did 44 as my first elementary - realy nice test for a first one at that level and not much of a step up from novice. It consists of 10m trot circles, a walk to canter, 15m circles in canter, change of leg through trot over x and a simple change on the B-E line, canter loops, medium trot, on first CL halt at x and then proceed in trot, a halt for 6 seconds (i think from memory) thats about it other than the usual. Not got 49 so can't help on that, but 44 realy is a good one for first go. Have fun and good luck

44 is one of the nicest, 49 one of the worst!

49 has 15m circles in trot either rein over X, leg yielding, medium trot, walk to canter, canter look 6-8m, give and retake inside rein in canter, 10m half circle in canter change of leg through trot then 10m half circle in canter. It's really horrid, esp the canter work!

generally speaking the lower the number at any level the less complicated the test. Ele 44 is a much more straightforward test.
