Hi all

I have only posted on here a few times, but like to read everyones replies/advice on issues/posts that I can relate to and I find the forum very useful.

The reason for my post is the Elevator Bridle. I would like as many opinions on the Elevator bridle as possible:
Reasons why you have bought used them
If they were used to solve issues
Do you think they are better (or not) than other bridles and why?

The reason I am asking is that I have a Welsh Cob (D) who I backed approx 3 months ago, he is great and has no issues, but I have the chance to obtain an elevator bridle and wanted to know everyones thoughts. I initially, without using one, think they seem to be a great idea.

Thank you in advance.

I put no, but only cos I dont like thge "elevator" make of bridles as i think the quality on the newer ones doesnt match the price!. Love "comfort" bridles though and wont buy anything without a padded headpiece! I have an Albion one which is beautiful

I have a cheapy gallop one which I like, seems to have lasted pickle well and it really does get a beating, used for hacking in all weather etc!

I don't like the leather on the elevator bridles. It is very, very soft and stretches easily.

for a comfort bridle at around the same price get the Albion or Passier or Kate Negus.

I have voted yes. I have an Elevator and a Heritage comfort bridle, but the quality of the Elevator is better (although the Heritage is lasting well too, the leather is not quite as scrumtiously soft). I didnt choose either of them because I had problems, just that the design appears much more comfortable for my horses.

Have just bought an elevator and am very impressed with the quality and also the service from the company. We are having to change parts to get the right size and they are very accomadating.
As to change in performance etc you will have to ask in a few weeks time, although it wasn't bought to address any particular concerns just because I want pony to be as comfy as possible.

bought mine about 5 years ago and despite being cleaned very infrequently they are still looking good and the leather is lovely and soft

I put no because I find my Heritage Comfort Bridle does the cost for a lot cheaper. However, were I offered one free, I would certainly seriously consider it!!

I had Elevators for 4/5 years- they were always beautiful bridles, the quality was second to none and the customer service was fab. I ordered a new one in April and was bitterly disappointed, the leather was crap and the customer service appauling. I sent it back and replaced it with an Albion after a recommendation from here and I love it.

I love the idea of comfort bridles- I intially used one as my old mare had a funny poll and normal bridles would slip down behind her ears and rub and because it solved that it made a huge difference to her. I would'nt go back to a normal bridle now but I honestly couldnt tell you if they make any difference to my horses way of going (just makes me feel better!)

, I feel rather lucky?

I will need to do a PR piece in return, and maybe reccommed it to some of my friends.

But on the whole, the Elevator bridle seems to be a reccommended piece. i also notice the comfort bridle being mentioned which I have used before, but not with my boy, but I dont like the Crank Noseband!

I agree I dont like crank nosebands, but if you do them up very very loose they are basicaly no different to cavessons (But then I dont like grakles or flash nosebands either tbh)

I purchased one a couple of months ago and not only did it takes weeks to arrive the quality of the leather was shocking! It looked cheap !
I called them to send it back and was given the line "we dont do refunds" I replied with " oh yes you do " argued my case and got my money back, Mybiggreygelding also received the same line and also got her money back.
I have seen some older ones and they seem to be better quality, seems like they are using cheap leather now.
Buy an Albion - or chat albion up for a free one. - They probably dont need the free PR though as their products speak for themselves unlike Elevator.
