Just a quick question but I'm sure I know the answer. Iv brought 2 of these and are proving to be very good but iv been told that research has been done and they can course colic? Due to the amount of air the horse can take in while trying to get the hay out. :/ tbh I can't see any logic in that or see how that can be possable as the horse wont be gulping down air while trying to work at the hay. but is there any issues that I'm un aware of?

Toffee-monster I know :)
Can't see it's possible myself but just in case anybody knows anything I thought I would ask.

In my horses case as he's on a diet I need to limit him on hay over night and normally in the morning he's kicking up to get out but since using these he's settled and hasn't eaten his straw bed so they are working well and surely would help provent colic by tickle feeding throughout the night anyway.
Just seemed a funny thing for this girl to say as she's v experienced and high up in the showing world. So thought I would run it pass u guys.

I was speaking to a vet who was raving about Ticklenets a few weeks ago. They have much smaller holes than Eliminets and she highly recommends them. So doubt the colic theory has any substance.

Does sound odd as to me as the horse will have fibre going through the system for longer and therefore even a winsucker or cribber should be kept amused longer and hopefully take in less air
