I've been double netting my greedy mares hay and it's driving me mad! Saw these on a link on another thread so thought I'd give them a try. Unfortunately Parrell Products seem to be out of stock!! Anyone know if I can get them from anywhere else?

Thank you!

Why is it driving you mad ? those nets don't look that good to me anyway, I had to triple net my nets when my boy had lami few years back. I sometimes double net depending on how much grazing there is.

I'm not sure why its so much hassle to you, do you try and fill them with both nets together or something ? I fill one then put the other over the top after, its not a problem

It's more the hanging that I hate. I've got a bit of a paranoia over haynets and tend to hang them then re-hang them quite a few times! I find with two stings to tie up it's really fiddly and hurts my hands, especially as the hay is soaked so the nets are very heavy. Also I need more nets so as I was buying some thought I'd give the elim-a-nets a try. Not thought about triple bagging though, might be worth a try!!!

Somebody I know who was double netting removed both strings from the haynets, and then re-threaded one string through BOTH nets, so that they were attached and you only have the one string to worry about.

(Sorry, don't think i explained that very well, and can't think how to word it any better.)

Someone at my yard bought one of those elimanets and the holes were bigger than my normal small holed haynet so a bit of a waste of money!

It's so obvious once you've seen or heard about it isn't it?
I was double netting my horses hay when she was on box rest last year and it never crossed my mind. Then i was filling up a haynet for somebody else a couple of weeks ago, wondered what the hell was wrong with the net as couldn't find a second string, then noticed what she'd done. It worked brilliantly.

That is a really good idea ! you win the prize

don't get them-the holes at the top of the net are huge and the horses take about 10seconds to work it out-if they fixed that they would be worth getting. get the Shires small holed nets and double net them. the blue and black are the standard size (pretty big) and red and black are enormous.

I bought one last week - thought that all the excellent reviews and recommendations I've seen for them mean it'd be good and somehow different from just double-netting myself. Have to say, I'm not really impressed so far. It's really no different to making your own double nets (have always gone for the two nets on one string approach myself ;)) and my greedy boy is tearing his way through his haylage as usual.

I'd go for two of the extra-fine Shires ones doubled together instead, but be aware that they are not particularly strong and vulnerable to frustrated, haylage - starved (yeah, right ) horses tearing them to pieces. As I found out last year.

Seems there really is no easy answer...

I bought 2 of these and am actually a little disappointed. I think they would be a bit better if
A) the nets had smaller holes
B) the black netting went horizontally as well as vertically (if you see what I mean!)

I am tempted to double net one of these actually.

I've just restrung my double nets so they only have one string and it's so easy!! Thank you so much for the great ideas. I will go for the shires nets as my extras and do the same thing. Thank you so much for the tips!!

My friend and I got elim-a-nets and were really keen for them to arrive, what a MASSIVE disappointment :(

Within 2 days both our boys had actually managed to stretch the holes. My friend now double nets hers but I can't do that with mine as the holes are now so big, he can pull the inner net through the holes!!

We have emailed the company but have had no response!!

Hopefully they are not out of stock, perhaps they have stopped making them???

Total rip off :(
