It's a real pity

So So sorry to hear such disapointing news.

She must be absolutly gutted.

And I feel gutted for her.

Her performance this weekend had nothing to do with it,the horse has an infected leg.She is only 22 and she will have so many opportunities to go,she is one of the most talented ladies on the SJ circuit at the moment, and she is allowed to have a "bad" weekend.

I agree she is very talented BUT to put in a poor performance (for whatever reason as we all have off days without question as we are all mere mortals) at effectively the final viewing trial on a horse who has had very limited outings recently due to various reasons (mostly injury i believe) she was going to struggle to justify a place on the team with anything less than a double clear or as close as as possible dependant on how everyone else performed.

For whatever reasons it was they had a very poor first round and didn't jump the second at all so even if he had been sound now I would have been honestly very surprised if he made the team as other riders including some who I have far than favourable opinions of have produced consistently good results recently. By the sounds the injury which has now surfaced is almost certainly the reason for the poor performance.

basically would you put a horse although brilliant with very limited recent outings due to various injuries in the place of a consistently performing pairing with no recent injuries who although might not challenge for an individual medal should be able to produce a solid team performance? I know who i would choose if I (which i'm obviously not!) was the selector....
