I cant find that Ellen Whitaker post. I was in the middle of reading it then went off the page and came back to finish reading and its not there?

I'm guess the foul language of DunRoamin had something to do with it. If she hates this forum so much I guess a ban wont be such a problem...

Yes, I was mid-read.....it was about riders losing their tempers with horses I believe and then er someone lost their temper on here!!! Tshk.

There were some extremely defamatory things said on that post - and then Dunroamin was exceptionally rude to more than one person - TBH I'm not surprised it got pulled!

to be fair to dunroamin, it's very out of character (i think!), she's always been lovely and friendly on here- as far as i'm aware.

perhaps she's having a tough time. she posted the other day to say her grandpa had died and i think she was very upset by it.

xx

oh I was going to post as I have just seen her ride on TV. Personally I thought Ellen handled it very well considering how difficult the mare was - I wont comment on anything else because I dont know if anything that was said is true!

I was there last night and i think ellen rode very well, ladina b wasn't being particular helpful. and she could have really lost it with her. geoff did tell her in the first round to sit quietly and she listened. who can put there hand up and say that if there horse was behaving like that they would just be a little bit peed off??

Read that thread - it did get a bit heated and I'm not surprised it got pulled.

Everyone will have different opinions of a particular rider and sometimes this forum can be the worst place to express "free speech" (yeah right, what's that?) but it still didn't merit the abuse that was given.

Disclaimer - I do not keep up to speed with the equestrian sports, I have no idea what Ellen is like as a rider or with her horses but then again, I don't really know what *any* of the top level competitors are like - as I said, I don't keep up with it so I do not have an opinion of any of them. However, I did see Ellen's horse misbehaving and I think she handled it well.

When did it get heated- I must have missed that, I was posting on that thread last night and didn't see anyone kick off. Their was a defamatory comment about Ellen on it though which I did point out to the poster!

I agree im not a huge Ellen fan either - but the way she rode last night was absolutely fantastic - that mare gave her so much aggro and she handled it brilliantly - im sure its tough enough to ride up to a fence that huge never mind on a bucking bronco - all credit to her for last night.

I think the general opinion was that she handled the mare very well but she's been seen to get very stroppy with some of her other horses. Hickstead was the time that came to mind for me. But DR didnt seem to appreciate people's opinion of Ellen and used foul language towards one person in particular! No need for that. I like JM07 too but DR is different and was lashing out personally.

Not an Ellen fan but don't hate the girl, don't know if you saw on the TV coverage in the 3rd round (I think) she was constantly patting / stroking Ladinas neck to try and calm her down when she was bucking.

Well ridden by ellen

ditto this. actually she looked good in one of the speed classes too- i don't especially like her (not sure why really) but she is a good rider and her riding of ladina B proves it

The post got a little out of hand as it was suggested that "we were all gear and no idea", and that becuase we do not ride at that level then we are mere mortals and should not have any opinions as we cant do it ourselves.

I probably started it as i made reference to the incident in the collecting ring when she did not know the cameras were still rolling, but becuase i dont compete an international level i am apparantly not allowed any opinion.

Last night was the first time I have been impressed with Ellens riding and attitude.
I'm still not keen on her at all.
It was nice to see so many of the riders patting their horses after they'd jumped and generally being considerate towards them by retiring rather than over-facing them etc.

I'm not keen on Ellen, and yes she handled the mare well last night, but I suspect that Ladina B is one of those horses you just have to let get on with it. I think that losing it with her and getting angry then she is only gonig to play up some more I certainly wouldn't argue with her, she sure knows her own mind lol

As for the thread last night, it was rather hijacked by someone acting like a spoilt child with a rather large attitude problem and I suspect that is why it was pulled.

Yeah, inbetween all the racism, foul language and quite frankly BNP-esque opinions she's a lovely girl

I too thought ellen rode very well, that mare was very difficult.
I hope this is a sign of things to come and ellen is managing to control her temper streak that seems to have let her down in the past, she is a very talented rider and as she matures will only get better.

I did not see the original thread so can't comment there.
