Does any know the gossip!? They had a fall out, anyknow know what it was about?
I'm just being nosy really, its nice to know that even the pros have disagreements like the rest of us.

interested in knowing too! on the h&h news it just says to read h&h, rubbish! Am on a spending cut down so don't have the mag this week, grrrr!

She wasn't being a 'madam' at all, it was more her fathers decision he did this when she was in young riders.... Well basically he said that she would be on the team but would not come to team training, and the BEF didn't like this so again they went their separate ways. I have posted a thread on the competition riders section about this issue, and this the Ellen made a very wise decision about the horses and her own career, he's her only top horse and she needs to treasure him, and if bloody Rob Hoeksta won't respect her own knowledge of the animal and what shows it should and shouldn't jump, then quite frankly he shouldn't be team manager at all.

She must have had good reason, as she comes across as very professional, and it's not a decision she'd have taken lightly. I think she's fantastic, some girl against the clock. Hope it all works out in her favour. Will be getting H&H 2m!!!

I think most chef de quipes have problems selecting a strong team, regardless of their riders horsepower. You quite often see top riders keep their good 'uns for the big individual classes like the Rolex and some of the well funded grand prix, whilst using the lower rated horses for the team events. Mostly to keep sponsors and owners happy I would guess.

This matter should be sorted out between themselves & not be put out in the media for speculation. The old saying 'What is said in the dressing room stays in the dressing room' should apply to this matter.

They're our teams that we support and in part fund, so I think we have a right to know why our newly elected manager is upsetting one of the best riders in Britain.

Why would she throw a tantrum though? she knows that horse inside out and how best to manage it, and everyone would love to represent their country. I'm sure that her and her father didn't just decide this on a whim, because there would be backlash against both Ellen and Rob by some people. If someone was ignoring my knowledge about my own horse and pestering me to make wrong decisions, then I two would leave that situation. We should be proud of Ellen for having a backbone and not being so desperate to be on a team that she ruins her horse.

Because she's always right? Because nobody could possibly make team decisions that don't suit her without publicly being slagged? ''won't ride for GB until Hoekstra is finished...'' that sounds like a dummy spat to me...
Surely representing one's country is the pinnacle of one's career, so stomping off in a huff might not be the best idea.
I'm not proud of Ellen, frankly, she would have shown more backbone if she just withdrew the horse and kept her mouth shut...
