Me and OH went (work related), did anyone on here go and if so what did you think? It was the first time they have done a lecture/demo apparently. Steven was teaching Ellen and Joe on novice then advanced horses. It was quite good but Steven found it hard to explain what was going on - you were just better to watch really. A very long journey for them for the turnout that it recieved, bit of shame really but I think the tickets were a bit on the pricey side.

What horses did she have there? How expensive were the tickets?

Dunno about the horses, but tickets were £40 each....and on a school night too

I thought it was incredibly expensive ! Considering Hadlow College had an equine event recently with demo's from Ben Maher and tickets were only £10.

Tim Stockdale is a proven trainer and his tickets are only £20 on the door. For £40 I could have had a private lesson with a decent trainer - complete rip off IMO, I'm not surprised the seats were empty!

The very high price was why I did not consider going and I hope that whoever was responsible for setting the price will have learned their lesson. By the way Rambo - it was not a school night - Easter Monday is a holiday!

i am going to forward all your comments to the organisers, with whom i have a fair amount of contact. however to be fair to them, the rider will demand a fee, which is out of their control, and i suspect it was this that made the price so high. i actually didnt realise the cost of it as i didnt pay for my ticket. And for the record, even if it was pippa, anky and ellen together i couldnt afford that much for a couple hours entertainment!!

I was of course being tongue in cheek and implying that 'working folk' such as myself would have to get up early on tuesday morning to go to work

Guildford is a good 1hr 30mins for me (and that's not legal

), and i'm guessing the demo wouldn't have finished before about 10pm....making it a late night for anyone who had to go to work the following morning

Well, the fact is that most of us could have had an hours private tuition with any/all of the names you mention for little more than the £40 charged

Blimey! And you're not likely to go on your own, so probably at least £80 - lots of better things to do with that kind of money methinks.
