Ellie and I had an accident on the road today...

Glad you are relatively OK, and I hope the police prosecute both the driver, and give the company a warning about the driving standards of their employees - particularly if the tacho proves he was over the speed limit.
I cannot believe he left you both on the floor in the road and just drove off. He deserves points for leaving the scene of an acident, not reporting it, the list goes on :(

Blimey what a T*** of a driver...grrrrr:mad:....Thank god you are both relatively ok. I have also been involved with an accident involving my horse not liking the cement mixer lorry but in this case the driver stoppped as not to spook my horse but the bit was still revolving and thats what he didnt like. Fair play to driver he stopped, kept apologising and called 999!!! It wasn't his fault. In regards to post accident my boy was a bit nervous with lorries afterwards but he is fine now.

Hope the police do something.... Bottle of wine for you and treats for Ellie xx

OMG! what an awful experience  i haven't read all the replies but glad to hear that you are pursuing this. it seems like the driver is going to try and claim that you/ your friend were out of control BUT thats the whole point...thats why you should go very wide and slow near to horses as they are unpredictable and its easy to lose control.... but i'd also be making a point of the fact that you weren't out of control until he scared the horses
i would definitely get the vet to check your mare. then if there is something wrong you can sue him. i'm not one for sueing people for just anything but this person is clearly not responsible and so imho should lose his job- if he can't drive appropriately then he shouldn't be driving full stop. I'd be inclined at the very least to take you vet bill for the check and call out round to the firm and ask them to pay it....

OMG how scary. A few years a go a lad rever engine and overtook me and my friend on a single track lane - tooting horn etc.(****) and her horse had a major spook. We got back to find her hind fetlock needed striches. Luckily I spotted the lad had overall on from a local car dealership. We call police, and them. Turned out the lad was on a months trial, was delivering a customers car. He got sacked, had to pay vets fees out of the remaining wages (which our lovely vet added a bit on...for future but etc if needed) and wrote a sorry letter which they made him deliver by hand. Don't know what happened with police. The garage secretary had horses too so sort of baccked us up.

Very scary for all - Mizelz, definately get the vet then you have "proof" and maybe phone up the concrete place as they will have records as to who was delivering where at that time.
