I wake up every morning dreading going down to the field, afraid of what I might find, but so far so good and the worry has been for nowt.
Ellies minor wounds are nicely scabbed over, are clean and dry and giving no cause for concern.
The puncture wounds in her offside hind that gave the most concern are also clean and dry and scabbed over nicely. Her leg is still swollen but there is no heat in it and she isnt lame. It is tender to touch but that is understandable.
Ellie is also her usual grumpy self, so that is a good sign too
, lol
I think that if we can get to Sunday/Monday with no signs of infection we might be over the worst and on the way to a (hopefully) full recovery. Finger crossed!
Oh, I reported the dog attack to the Dog Warden and the Police, who were less than helpful. The police actually asked me what I expected them to do about it! I told them that last time I looked there was a Dangerous Dogs Act in this country that is enforceable by law. The most helpful were the local vets who actually trawled through the records while I was on the phone to see if any dog had been brought in with injuries that could have been caused by a horse. There was nothing unfortunately, so it looks as if we will never find the culprit.
Thank you all so much for your vibes and well wishes on my initial post, you are all wonderful and the vibes appear to be doing their stuff
