Elms Farm Equestrian Caythorpe?

i dont know either, its our local venue so will be disappointed. think they were hoping to get a grant for a new indoor that has gone somewhere else ,i may be wrong but not sure why that would mean everything is cancelled.

Oh dear, that's such a shame. Was planning to go there with my son & his pony for novice SJ this Saturday. The last one was cancelled too.

I think it's still available for hire as the pony club had a rally there over half term.

Looks like it's Laughton Manor for us then, although I see it's up for sale.

The front page on the website has been changed now with the bit about fraudulent funding now removed !!

Still no competition dates though. Hope they do get back to doing some more shows.

They have cancelled all future comps for the forseeable future.

Think they would very much appreciate a few emails of support!!

Numbers in comps were a little low so think if people showed they were up and riding again now we are through the winter it would certainly help convince them to start up again

Their email can be found on website

This is a local venue for me and we jsut bought a lorry so were planning on going soon. Not sure what OP is pointing atthough as no message on webite? I must be missing something

A friend popped up to Elms tack shop last weekend and was told everything cancelled for the forseeable.

I have also heard Laughton is sold STC!! This is our local one so hope who ever buys it carries on with the dressage!! Otherwise its Sissons :(

does anyone know why ,is it because of low numbers or not getting a grant .they still have all the facilities and people will sadly go elsewhere know the weather is picking up . i love it as am practically next door but both mine out of action at present.

When I competed up there last year (Elms) Trudies husband (sorry can't remember his name!) said that they were packing in because they had applied for a grant for an indoor school and had lost it to vale view. He said it was some how fixed as VV already had an indoor?! At this point they put Elms up for lease ( I think they rent it from the college?) He then said after calming down and thinking about it he was going to carry on and see if they could get the indoor some other way. This was last year so I'm not sure what has happened this time?

Spoke to Steve yesterday and they were very disappointed about the grant and were not sure they were able to carry on raising the standard of competitions without it. Did get the impression that if people showed they were willing to support the venue and future competitions they may consider some in the future.

Very disappointed as sissons is well over an hour away for me and VV doesn't run many unaf. dressage.

well that would explain why I thought it was a bit odd that no comps on when I looked at the websute yesterday'!

Just seen this. I'm gutted as i used Elms a lot, haven't over the winter due to lorry being out of action for a few months but was planning on going there soon.

Will send an email over for support.

Not sure about Laughton - i'll find out as a girl i work with's Mum works there.

im also really down about this -
there really is nowhere else in the area which offers the frequency of events that elms did. Plus I really was looking forward to the odd ODE in the summer!

I very much hope they reconsider and that people start to pester once the clocks change!! Think everywhere is a bit slow until April time. Had a look and very little on a sissons/laughton/arena uk.

Might be putting the lorry up for sale!

Miax - i took Fabio to their last ODE last year (our first one!) and was also looking forward to doing more this year. :(

Looks like we'll be doing a lot more Jumpcross!

There was a message on the homepage about fraudulent grants and a phone number and email address for complaints to be made to but that disappeared by next day??

Thanks,

I've messaged Trudy, my sister bought her horse form there and I have now inheritted it, was hoping to take her there for a first outing on the 3rd as I thought there was jumping then. Maybe some of us locally could offer to help at least to get things going again?? Would be a shame if we lost this venue, in the current climate we should support where possible.
