Many people who are writing to the ILPH will be receiving this email in reply.

Thank you very much for your email concerning recent developments relating to the case in Amersham. We are fully supporting the RSPCA who are pursuing all legal avenues to try to guarantee the future welfare of all the horses, ponies and donkeys involved. Whilst the possible legal options are being explored we are not asking our supporters to take any direct action. We are very mindful that we must not prejudice the legal proceedings, most importantly the criminal proceedings against Mr John James Gray and other members of this family.

However, many of you are as angry and distressed by this situation as we are. Over the coming days we will be looking to identify a clear route for the public to direct this feeling so any resulting action can have maximum impact. As soon as we have a way forward we will contact you to let you know exactly what you can do to help and in the meantime will keep you updated on any progress.

On a more positive note, we are very pleased that a High Court judge has today adjourned a request by James Gray to be granted an emergency injunction to force the immediate return of 29 ponies and donkeys to him. The case has been referred back to District Judge Sandeep Kainth at Oxford Magistrates Court at a date yet to be confirmed. In the meantime the horses will remain in the care of the various welfare agencies involved, including ourselves and the RSPCA.
