I spotted your question on the Arena post after, and put a bit about it on there!

From what I've heard, it's brilliantly organised. The SJ is up to height (for the 95cm class) but the xc is very straightforward. The ground is usually very good too.

It gets fully booked quite quickly and runs on a first come first served basis, so get your entries in soon if you want to go.

They use it as a warm up for the BE events, so usually a good standard and yes definately up to height. Osberton is a solid and well built course but always inviting!

Think Novice class is 95 cm ?!

Was thinking of doing it but don't think i'll get my man fit enough in time now...!

Blimey, that's decent prize money for an RC event - works out about the same as Lower limit BE prize money for a Novice and is a damn sight cheaper to enter! I did like Osberton when I went a few years ago, and if all goes to plan aim to do the 2* there this year.

Lmao! TBH, my Dressage will be crap I imagine, unless he decides dressage is fun, in which case SJing will suffer anyway

Blooming horse!!

Can guarantee my dressage will be abysmal, having found out that doing a dressage in summer when Shadow's out 24/7 gets us a mid 30s score, then our last event when she was in at night went down to a 47...........total psycho

The SJ is on grass too but apparently holds up well.

Yes I have done it for a few years and won 2 years ago!! Lovely to get £80 back from my £30 entry!!

The Novice XC is very small, no combinations, splash through the water, just portable well built jumps really and one small open ditch.

The Open a bit bigger again pretty sure no combinations but some skinnies and step into the water.

Really really good going, as its sandy there it doesnt' really freeze or get deep. The SJ might get a little bit muddy but nothing horrendous and they only need to cancel if it snows or torrential rain!!

Not really held on any part (other than XC) of where the BE event is held.

SJ is usually up to height but not square and not that spooky filler wise etc.

Great event just get your entry in quick, they opened before Xmas so would imagine its getting full already - balloted about 70 last year!!

No none of it is over the BE stuff really. They hold quite a few PC events there and its mainly over those jumps. Might be the odd "parts" of BE fences but no the Novice BE was mainly portables last year and bits of the int course. Much smaller than a BE novice course.
