World Horse Welfare needs your help now!

There have been a few posts on here about the Written Declaration on horses being transported to slaughter - today is crunch time! They need 50 more MEPs to sign up by 6pm (5pm UK time) or the thing will fall.

Please, if you have a spare 5 mins ring your MEPs now - if they haven't signed please give them a kick, if they have thank them and ask them to get one more MEP to sign up. These horses need our help now - people always say what a force for good this forum can be - well now let's prove it

Bit late in replying but I rang all of those in my area and 2 had signed and one sent me me an email saying that they refused to sign anything as they want UK independance ????

World Horse Welfare would like to thank everyone that took action and contacted their MEPs about Written Declaration 54/2009.



Support across Europe has been overwhelming, meaning that we have had a total of 275 MEP signatures in support of reviewing the legislation governing the long distance transportation of horses to slaughter.



This is truly impressive - meaning that 37% of all MEPs have pledged their support. Most written declarations do not receive this level of interest.



We are currently waiting to hear from the European Parliament to find out if we have obtained an extension on the Written Declaration, so that we can get the full 368 signatures required to bring parliamentary review.



We will keep you up to date with the latest.
