Hi,

I would like a set with

clinch remover
creased nail puller
shoe puller
hammer (optional as can buy anywhere)

I cant see sets with these items for under £120

Any recommendations?

Thanks

I would ask my farrier to buy them for me, he would probably be able to get good quality for a reasonable price
or recommend the best place

Never thought of asking the farrier for bits and bobs before but he is making me some brilliant hooks from some old shoes I had but couldn't bring myself to throw out, he also gave me a brilliant rasp for a few odd bits which I wasn't happy about on one of my goats feet

My farrier ordered my some before, which I bought for whole yard, and didn't think set great value. He's not got any old tools I can get off him direct.

I do want specific tools for the job versus pliers etc. I don't want to risk damaging my horse's feet by my hamfistedness.

My farrier modified a shoe puller for me. The end of one arm is a hammer, the other a buffer, and the two sides can be separated.

I have removed a shoe with a hammer and a spoon before, you only really need a hammer any one will do and anything that you can use to get under a clench and pliers to pull the shoe, I would ask your farrier mine will often have old tools and will happily give them away if you ask.

I've used YO's pliers successfully more than once. To pull nails out and shoe comes off - not sure what else you would need? I wouldn't do more than remove a shoe, in an emergency, would get a professional in for anything else.
