So I may have just bought myself another horse.....i may have not told my OH....and it may be arriving home tomorrow to join the clan....hmm. So should I a) perhaps tell him or b) just wait til the transporter arrives and be like 'SURPRISE' rather awkwardly!
Or perhaps I can rid of him for the day and he will come back and not notice???

Either way this is going to be an awkward conversarion/surprise haha! :)

Soo I think I'm needing good luck wishes lol!! :P

Haha! I have been dropping subtle hints and he's all like 'the last thing you need is another horse' (so not really being that subtle lol!)
The only thing about sneaking him in is that I only have the 5 stables and it has been used as a feed room for about 3 years now lol. I could just say I found him and just so happened to have passport tied around his neck, so I best just keep him?
Mongoose that plan crossed my mind as well but then he would definitely think there was something up haha!

He's 16.3! He is bay tho and I have another bay so could say he's seeing things!
Coblover I like your thinking lol! :D

Oh well, these things happen. Tell him to look on bright side, you only bought one.......

I managed to have one "on loan " ! It was a year before he realised I had bought her. I dont ever ask it gives him the oppurtunity to say no !!. He went to work in france for two weeks last summer and we bought a lovely young coloured horse. Friend suggested that when he rang i should say guess what I m pregnant , then wait a minute and say only joking we only bought a horse .

He's obviously a rescue horse in desperate need of a loving home otherwise goodness knows what his fate would have been. The fact he's got a nice round tummy and glossy coat masks the emotional pain he's going through, that only you can heal.

Or he's a project with amazing potential and you're going to sell him at a huge profit in 4 days time so he won't be there very long...honest.

I have to admit the fb status could be a good one lol! Everyone would he happy and excited for me so realistically so should he. No???
Exactly what's the harm in having one more little horse about the place :)

Will be needing a bigger lorry next....:)

This was my original plan but I already have a 'project horse' thats still here(long term project-3 years now) so I thought he might use this against me! Lol!

You just have to keep doing these things until he becomes resigned to the fact that it's what you do (or divorces you)!! My OH has given up now, we've been married 28 years and he's learned to just accept it - the "it's just to bring on and sell" line doesn't wash now, he says he knows I don't often sell horses on as I get too attached but knows they make me happy which in turn makes his life easier :) I allow him the odd moan now and again then carry on regardless!

I like this logic lol :) surely he will give up caring where the new horse came from eventually! Lo!!

my mum did this with a cat, she told my dad she'd found her near her workplace. Not sure if that would work with a horse.

On a similar train of thought could you perhaps tell him you've bought three new horses as they desperately needed a home and then follow up to tell him not to worry you've found homes for two of them so it's just the one coming home with you :)

He comes tomorrow, should be here around 12ish, struggling to think of a reason why he should go away for the day and if he will actually go haha!

I suppose I should really just tell him but....knowing me, I will just wait until the lorry pulls up the drive haha! It will be too late for him to say no then :)

Haha! Good plan! I think he would have heart failure if I told them there was 3 coming!

I think i could have a valid arguement actually because it's all fine and well him buying farm equipment on impulse surely it works for me and horses?? :)

So new horse arrived early today and he is just beautiful walked off the lorry as calm as you like popped into his stable and is happily munching away on his hay my other horses are more bothered about the new imposter than he is of coming to a new home!

Still haven't told the OH yet lol, he is away at meetings all morning so when he gets back just going to tell him that when I went down this morning a new horse magically appeared :D

I was also thinking about trying to convince him that I had actually told him!
"But I did tell youuu. Remember last week at that bbq where you had one two many whiskies!"

Along these lines lol!
