Doubtful, given that they're not allowed back in once they've left the actual arena... And there aren't any tradestands.

How dull!
I think maybe they got their 'information' leaflet and realised not only is it a nightmare to get to, it`s no Badminton when they do. Maybe they have decided to stay and home and watch.
.. and actually the seats seem to be an awfully long way from the arena and you may need binoculars to actually see much??

You're definitely allowed to leave, walk XC and go back in to the arena - it says so on my dressage day ticket info and on the website ;)

It looks 50% empty :mad: So many people that I know who were desperate to go to one of the equestrian events, have been unable to get tickets for anything, so to see all these empty seats is appalling!
I eventually managed to get 2 team dressage tickets, but that was after several failed attempts and many hours wasted applying and failing.

I am surprised/shocked to see so many empty seats - I haven't been able to get tickets so this makes me

I wonder if you can buy tickets there on the day if there are free seats?!

I think they're are empty because there were chunks of seating given to corporate people. Yet if they decide not to come the seats still remain taken
Which is why there are so many empty seats

it's ridiculous! think that maybe people just applied for as many tickets as possible, then woke up this morning and just thought it's not really worth it; very annoying for all us equestrian people who would have LOVED to be there drooling over all the stunning horses:pit's very annoying though:mad:

lots and lots of tickets went out to competitions

my daughter won 2 tickets to the boxing, (runner up prize) she didn't want them, asked for them to be redrawn but no we still got them through the post, we're not allowed to give them away, we're not allowed to sell them but we deffinately wont be going, so there will be 2 empty seats. I wonder how many more people are in our position with tickets they don't actually want?

There were quite a few hotel and ticket packages for Dressage in the window of Thomas Cook last week, still priced at crazy levels! That probably explains where some of the empty seats come from... Did they ever publish how many tickets went straight to the sponsors?

Gutted it looks so empty though on telly :(

Probably a fair few, Jeanette!

I think the biggest problem, though, is that seats were saved for certain 'important' people who had no intention of ever being there, but whose self-importance would have led them to kick up a fuss had they not had seats reserved.

Just had a flick through the other sports and they're all mostly the same. :(

Hi there
I was there today, sorry but it was amazing!! The organisation was second to none. You could leave the arena between tests and there were breaks too. You could walk the cross country course which was such a great thing to be able to do. Hence there were lots of seats empty at different times. There were trade stands and lots of places to eat and drink. It was very hot so people did take breaks. So there weren't really lots of empty seats xx

If you go to the Olympic web site tickets, their are lots of tickets still available for all the sports :) including all EQUESTRAIN
http://www.tickets.london2012.com/schedule.html
But that's just the list of prices?? I've tried doing the "search events" function, which is how it says to buy tickets, and nothing is coming up for the equestrian events.

I can't believe that all the rows and rows of empty seats we could see on telly were people off looking at trade stands...but whatever the reason, it looks really bad and it's a bit gutting for those of us who didn't get tickets to see anything :(
