Only just turned 12, so far too young, but fitted in a busy life- representing GBR twice and winning the national championships before we got him. Then he came to play teams with Dad and singles- qualifying for the indoor nationals in 2008, and being selected as my reserve they'd be happy to take to the junior world trophy in the same year. Just as he started to go wrong. He was so easy going in the field- he even put up with the pesky section A colt so was his companion for a year. A true family pony, being ridden by youngest sister and me, and driven by other sister and Dad. Highly strung but never ever nasty- one of the only ones to have never even tried to bite kick or buck. One colic too many last night so he is pain free now.

Sleep tight Rory pony, we'll all miss you, especially Richard pony, his full brother 2 years younger.
 
I am so sorry to see this :( you can see from pictures how loved he was! And what a life he lead RIP Rory :(

Oh I am so sorry to hear your sad news :( I too have a Rory who has had perotinitis & recently 2 bouts of colic. Your Rory was stunning, it won't be easy but in time I hope you can look back with fondness & remember all the happy memories. Take care xx
 
Feel for you so much. I lost my pony a week ago, she wasn't as talented as your Rory but she was very special and is much missed nonetheless. I know exactly how you're feeling and my thoughts really go out to you.
 
Oh Rara, that is so dreadfully sad :( :( I'm so very sorry for your family's loss :( But I'm sure that in his too brief life Rory had more love and fun than most horses could ever wish for. Sleep well, handsome boy. xx

They are all special to those that love them regardless of talent.

Sorry to hear of your loss :( RIP pony.

I do feel pretty stupid, ultimately we still have 13 healthy happy ponies, Rory wasn't like Pip or Ajay, but he still wasn't just one of fourteen, none of them are. Definitely pretty stupid, I should have sorted this dead pony thing by now, especially seeing as I've been nagging rents to let him go since the problem started- even the vet needed persuading as his heart rate wasn't even high. The theory and walking out to say bye finding him dead across the yard are so different.

that's being human I think. The logic in you knows it's best and right but it doesn't stop it affecting you, I think it would be awful if it did. xx

Im so sorry for your loss,colic is nasty.I lost a horse with colic in 1989 a\ year after he was out on loan to a lovely lady, I cant imagine how she felt when my horse died.
