Encountered my first idiot driver today - still shaking!

There are most certainly idiots about, had two lads racing along the lane to my yard some months back, came round a blind bend too fast, wrong side of the rode to see 16h3" of ID on the very narrow grass verge and me in black hat and breeches with a Hi-Viz coat, missed me by inches, my big-old-boy never even twitched god-love-him, think both drivers cr*pp*d themselves thinking they just missed plod lol. :D
Anyway, one of them was stupidly doing this in a works van with a telephone number on the side, his boss was very interested especially as the other vehicle was a customers car on road test!!
I did offer to pop in and remove various bits of their anatomy, but the boss was happy to do it himself!!

LOL, GOOD on you!
Oz :)

I turn 2 of mine out in a field down the road we walk down the grass verge as much as possible, both of them together (I can go through a field of horses but it upsets the horses turned out and real hassle with gates) I have noticed there is 1 driver who slows down if he passes me riding but tears past me at about 70 if I am leading. Admittedly I may not be that visible between the 2 of them, but B has a nice round apple bottom and a sparkly white tail and how he could claim not to be able to see The Shoe, all 16hh light grey (and mud and grass and stable stains) well built-ness of her!!

Out hacking the other day, I spoke to one of the local hunt officers, who warned me to look out for a particular car. Apparently, he had been out on a youngster and saw the car approaching him at speed, so moved out in the road to encourage the driver to take care. The idiot just gesticulated at him to move aside and ended up with the horse on his bonnet and the removal of a wing mirror. (The horse was OK). I got the distinct impression that word was out that the car had been seen again and he was on is way to find the driver - I would have loved to be there when he caught up with him.

Sympathies to all those scared or injured by pillocks on the road.

Regarding Bog of Frogs post I actually saw a heard of deer about to cross the road early one light morning and immediately put on my hazard warning lights to warn any drivers behind me, however the driver behind me simply overtook me and crashed in to the herd of deer as they crossed the road. He, his car and the deer suffered the consequences of his mis-judgment of the situation. So the moral of the story is that if the car(s) in front of you slow down and stop there may be a simple reason.
