Farrier came out and I left a note to ask that he just neatens up the hooves, and to check if anything else going on after his lami episode last week. I wasn't there, but my friend relayed back that he couldn't take anything off as he has nothing on his toes and he is the equivalent of use walking on gravel with no shoes on and that I need to get the weight off him and invest in some boots to get him moving.
So, having sifted through the various threads about feet - I am aware that I can do something in terms of feed, but what? I had read that the hooves can say a lot about what is either going on, or has gone on but apart from some glaring obvious issues on other peoples thread I have not idea what I am starting with on Nugz. I have tried to ask the farrier, but he is a man of few words
Before last week, he had just started coming in from 24/7 turn out (on okay grass with nothing else) and was on 2 slices of hay and adlib barley straw (otherwise known as his bed, I tended to put 1/2 bale in a night and leave him to make his own bed). Since last Tuesday he has been on 3 kg dryweight of 8-12hr soaked hay, and 8kg of Barley straw (with a small amount of dry hay from the fluffing of the nets to be soaked). He's also had a cup dryweight of FF with restore and magnitude for the magnesium in the morning and another cup with restore only in the evening. As of last night he is on a biotin and zinc powder in the evening feed and will finish the restore tomorrow morning.
So - pics!

And I tried to get a straight front shot - but as you can see, poneh decided he wanted to help
Anything else I should be doing/feeding?
And he is happy, sound in terms of lameness but not level and rough/stony ground is an issue.
