Hi, we do worm counts on our horses and only worm when required (as well as always worming for tapeworm etc in autumn and spring). My question is....we wormed with Pramox at the very end of October so do we still need to worm for encysted red worm now ie spring or can we do just tapeworm? Thanks in advance (also in New Lounge)

If you have used Pramox at the end of Oct then you have done your encysted dose. Carry on with the counts and fit your tapes dose when you need to. Hopefully no more worming will be needed.

Thanks peeps, we always worm for tapeworm and encysted red worm as know they're not picked up on counts. Many thanks GillB the minefield of worming is a tricky one and wasn't sure if the Pramox at the end of October was too early to cover the encysted redworm. Seem to remember being advised that the end of Oct was fine but them wasn't sure if memory playing tricks !

Would prefer to use Equimax for tapeworm in spring (if the encysted already treated) as covers horses upto 800kg and for me works out a lot cheaper, also prefer not to worm for the sake of it. Thanks for your advice, much appreciated.
