A hard decision but a brave one by loving owner. I hope the wonderful memories help with the pain.

Today we finally made the painful decision to say goodbye to my wonderful mare. A few of you will know we’ve come very close to it before, but this time it had to be.
She was my absolute equine soulmate. I’ve never felt so at home on a horse, we were so in tune. She could turn her hoof to anything, and win it, from Eventing to handy pony. She was also the most obedient horse I’ve ever met.

Farewell my pretty girl. Thanks for 17 incredible years.

So sorry. Xx

Always think there should be another option other than ‘like’ for these threads … she sounds like she was a star … may she always twinkle on you from afar xx

So sorry for the loss of your amazing mare. She sounded like a real ‘horse of a lifetime’ and that must be a huge hole in your life now. Take care.x

Thanks everyone for your kind words. My gelding, who has been with her as a couple for 15 years is looking and calling for her (guess we are going to need liveries again after all). My husband did the horses (well horse now ?) this morning and came in all tearful saying it just didn’t feel right without her around. Totally set me off as she had been vile to him, for absolutely no good reason, for 16 years!

Sorry for your loss,
It's a very sad time. It's like in taking their pain away you take it on yourself.
Rip lovely mare. Xx

This is so true!
From one who lost her Main Man a few weeks ago sorry for your loss, it is heart breaking when you have to do it.

I’m so sorry you lost your wonderful horse too.
