Im still in shock Ive managed to complete 3 ODEs on my 20yo this year (recap; he had an op on his leg in Aug 15) and they have all been great fun!
After Tweseldown UA in August, we headed to Munstead on 30th Sept to do an 80cm ODE run by HRRC. Andy was on great form, 34 dressage, just the one pole over a very bright course (years ago we would have not made it round due to the fillers!) and then a fun XC round where he just took exception to no4, and 5.6 time.
Then yesterday we headed back to Tweseldown to do the UA80, I have to say it is such a great venue now, the courses are super and change so much each time! Did another lovely test for 33, then onto SJ.. sadly I rode like a muppet into no4 and so had a stop (100% my fault), he then just tapped no6 to finish with 8 jumping and 10 time. Onto the best bit! I was determined not to have a silly spook stop like we did the last two times out and managed to pull it off! He had a bit of a look at no2 but I actually rode it and he jumped it fine, flew round the rest for an amazing clear, just 6 seconds under the optimum time! So very pleased with my legend of a horse, hes just getting better and better at the moment :cool3:
Who knows what the next 4 months will bring, but if hes still going like this then well be back out eventing again next year!
First pic is Munstead, other two are from Tweseldown yesterday.
