Well I had an amusing (?!) Sunday with my 3yo. I’ve been doing a bit of in hand work with him which he has been enjoying so thought I might see if he could jump. Arranged to take him to someone who had setup loose jumping in their school.
All good to start with. A bit of playing sideways in hand. Popped a couple of cavelleti on the longe. Trotted up and down the line with the poles laid out.
Put the first fence up.
Down the line he went and straight over the school fence at the end.
Repeated that 3 times, each time we upped the barricade until jumping out was physically impossible.
So he then opted for a different part of the fence, and when we conceded that draping the fence in scary tarpaulin and having someone stood the other side wasn’t going to deter him we gave in 🙈
Suffice to say he will stay attached to a human in future and I’m secretly impressed at his ability!
One of the little oik in a more controlled manner!
She we all said what we were planning to do for the end of summer weekend, I said I was going to thetford forest to swim in the river with my horse... this is just a picture to highlight the day 😂😂 ( this was short woohooo moment the rest of the day she was an absolute angle)
Had my last lesson with my fabulous dressage trainer on Sunday 😠new girl was just super so will definitely be doing some dressage with her next year ☺ï¸
Spent a little bit more time on Henry this weekend as I was at home. We’re 6 months post surgery now and have just started cantering under saddle - 4 weeks and counting until the fun stuff starts 😄
Second canter under saddle - trying my best to stay off his back but not too much incase he spooked 🙈
