We've had a great season, in every respect. Brids have flown well, always a good show in every drive. Dogs have been great, Jake has really come out of his shell, Kensa & Ellie were great as always

Ellie found a spot where a bird had fallen, but it had already been picked and all that was left on the ground was his tail feather - she was so proud, she asked for it back off me and was carrying it around!!

This is Lucy - Dad's old girl (12/13ish - she's rescue too) and has a tumour so i thought i would take her out on a drive on Monday and let her have some fun. She couldnt go with dad as it's too much walking for her ...

Thanks - same old pics i know!

We had all sorts of food on the last day, we all bought different bits and bobs in! Loads of drink - home made 'sole gin' (i haven't noticed that before!!), port, blackberry whiskey, champers etc. Food we had - sausage rolls, mini sausages, cheese straws, beef & mustard sarnies, pringles, chocolate, cheese & biscuits ... the works!!

Shame it's over - really miss it already!

Do you do any pigeon shooting during rest of the year?
 
Hen - One of dad's old skool friends who is also a beater MADE from scratch (other than the chassis)!

I'm so pleased with Jake - took a real chance on him and it's paid off

much to literally everyones surprise! He's going to have his crown jewels lopped this summer, along with his tail. Poor mite must be fed up me constantly cleaning his tail after every shoot day - gets ripped to shreds

SU - Ellie is so random, love her to bits. I threw the feather three times and she gave me the 'no mum - thats for you' look and kept bringing it back to me.. so i gave it to her and she wouldn't let go!!!!

Lucy is just adorable - probably be her last shoot she will every be on bless her - i wanted it to be special for her

Gutted as Kensa came into full season on Sunday so she wasn't there for the last day

very sad.... still there's next season!!

We're on pigeon shoots every Saturday now, for the next 5 weeks. I'll be official picker up for everyone. Just driving around the estate wondering from wood to wood sweeping up with 5 dogs!!!! Kensa, Ellie, Jake, Willow & Daisy
 
Fabulous pictures. I loved all of them, but especially Ellie carrying her feather and Lucy getting the chance to pick up a bird.

Jake is such a dude! Awesome. Makes me want to do it.
 
Well you have all the gear now - albeit still a very small 'gear' but .... it's on the cards!!

PLus - if all that food and sloe gin isn't enough to tempt you down with your gundog i don't know what it!!!!!!

I might bring him on holiday down your way this summer. Out of shooting season, but we might be able to organise a meet/greet.

I assume you won't be coming to the meet up in Shropshire, given your location?

We too had a fabulous season (except for Jan when most days were cancelled due to snow - grrrr!).

Taking the dogs pigeon shooting tomorrow which will really finish the season for us as we missed Beater's Day
