WWYD if you had a share agreement (amended BHS loan agreement into a share agreement) with your sharer but you wanted to end the share with less notice?

I thought I would try a sharer as shifts at work are hectic (also lost job and money was tight for a while but now back on track) and it allows me not to worry. Turns out I worry more.

Basically sharer has been on horse for a few weeks riding twice a week on hacks but its just not working out. Horse is very impressionable And since sharer has been on horse, horse has become heavy in the hand, falling into downward transitions instead of being light and sitting into them. He is not listening to my seat like he used to either snd i hate uding my hands. Horse is fighting with me when I ask for a light contact and wants to plough ahead. Lovely calm corners have turned into motorbike turns and all horse wants to do is canter.
Horse has also become a pain in the bum to lead, trying to drag me back to the field after a ride.
Sharer also would like to bring people down to yard and was told that yard was private and therefor only certain areas were to be accessed....photos were posted online of this not being adhered to and YO brought me up on this. Also contract was breached in the sense of sharer being the only one to handle horse and non horsey husband was leading the horse around.

Anyway, I'm not happy and would rather end it, but they signed a contract with a month's notice either way and I would rather not give them the notice, just let them ride out the month as they have paid and then not continue. Can I do this or should I give a month's notice?
I know I really should give a month's notice as per contract but it's at risk of horse becoming worse and YO becoming more annoyed (sharer asked me to look for a new yard!)

If this makes any sense, answers on a postcard would be very much appreciated.

End it now before she permanently ruins your horse. I used to let a friend ride my pony just to escort me on my young one. He had never had much of a mouth but after she had ridden him for a bit he had none at all. She was very rigid handed, no wonder her own pony had a mouth like a brick. It is already going to take you quite a lot of reschooling to get your nice horse back. They are just taking the p**s and treating him like their own with no respect for you.

I would end immediately, if you want to avoid a bit of confrontation you could say (genuinely) that the YO has raised an issue with people on the yard.
I wouldn't get drawn into why "you are ruining my horse" is not going to go down well - no matter now tactfully it is put.
Just say you have a change in circumstances and need to end now.

If she's only paid for 1 month for 2 times a week then I'm guessing she's paid you c.£80-100. I would be tempted to give it all back - not just the technically unused bit.
Then you can say your really sorry for the undisclosed change in circumstances and as a gesture you'll give her the riding she's had for free.

Hopefully that ends it all in a friendly and quick way.

In a way it's good that you've got breaking the rules re bringing people down and pictures on social media. You're not happy with her riding and that would be more difficult to prove.

You can even put some of the responsibility on the yard owners concerns

Dear Sharer. After our conversation about nobody else handling my horse and not going into areas of the yard that are out of bounds, it has come to my attention that these rules have been broken again. Please take this as immediate termination of the contract and you will be refunded any monies owed to you. If you have anything left on the yard, please arrange a time with me to collect these.

Sorry it's not working and hope you sort it ASAP.
I said a friend on the yard , whose horse was ill, could ride mine if she wanted , but she held him on such a tight rein he was unhappy, despite me telling he not to. When I rode him he was so unhappy in his mouth I had to stop her riding which was a shame as it could have been a useful arrangement.

Thanks everyone. I’ve brought up the YO concerns more than once and she didn’t listen. In fact even posted pictures on FB showing husband holding horse in front of their house.
That’s easy then — she’s breached the terms and for this reason (and your other reasons outlined above) it’s not working out and you’re giving notice. You could refund for any remaining time she’s paid for so you’re able to end it now.
