Endurance Riders!!

I know nothing about indurance, but my friend does it and she uses a webbing/plastic bridle, coz it turns into a head collor!!!!

Just got back from the Golden Horseshoe - definitely a biothane bridle as webbing gets horrible when its wet, which it was on Exmoor by the bucketful. Depending on your horse's feet and the terrain you are planning to ride on, you should be guided by your farrier. Endurance horses are either shod, shod with pads, or go barefoot - but this is very specialist and needs to be approached with care. Shoof boots are used in emergencies and not ridden in as a matter of course by endurance riders as they tend to rub.

I use a Libbys combination bridle that turns into a headcollar too - I can tie him to the trailer without taking anything off and then un-clip his reins and bit. I shoe my horse but then I do all road work because I have no bridleways or school near me.

Definitely a biothane bridle that converts quickly into a headcollar.

And wide-web shoes (supposing you don't want to go down the barefoot route), not boots - as has been said, boots can rub.

Biothane bridle (Zilco are my brand of choice), Libby's rubber grip reins. Both my endurance neddies are shod but I know plenty who are shoeless and compete either naked or with hoof boots depending on the going.

And for human beings I've just got some Kerrit riding tights which are possibly the comfiest things I've ever worn and I wouldn't want to ride in anything else now!
