Does anyone have any ideas what feed I could try on my 16hh 10yr old German Warmblood mare who events in the summer and show jumps/ dressages in the winter?

I have tried Spillers slow release energy mix in the winter and instant energy in the summer but these do not make any difference.

I have recently tried adding oats to her diet but again no difference shown.

All I really want is a little bit more sparkle when she is competing without her blowing her brains (which I think will be hard to do anyway).

I don't really want to change her mix so I am looking for suggestions with regards to straights/supplements I can add to her existing diet that may work.

You could try redcell??? Incase it's an iron defficiency causing the lethargy????? It perked my mare up when she got like that, I also know that it blew the mind of a tb on our yard who also thought they'd try it!!! With regard to the base feed then I know you said you didn't want to change but I also had no responce to the spillers feeds but have a look at this feed: http://www.dodsonandhorrell.com/products/horse-ranges/competition/performance-concentrate.html

Thanks for the info, I will have a look into the Redcell, I know we used to feed the hunting horses it when I worked at a hunting yard several years ago.

A few people have told me about Tiger Oats, some have had good results and others say its just a gimic. I think I will give them a try in the spring to see if I can see any difference. Thanks.

try Saracen Horse Feeds -they are fab with comp horses - my dressage horse is really tricky to feed and they sorted him out perfectly -give them a bell -havent got their number but they have it on their website
