Hi, I'm a HHO lurker but as you all seem so knowlegable I thought I would ask your advice/help. (Please be gentle with me!).

I have a rising 7 year old ISH (more like an irish TB to be honest) but she lacks that omph!

She isn't dead to my leg etc and works very well. The problem is jumping. Although she loves to jump and has the power she feels like she lacks energy which in turn looses impulsion resulting in some slightly sticky situations. She is feed A&P power & performance and hifi.

Any help appreciated. I won't use spurs as they rub (very very fine skin) and has resulted in a grumpy pony.

Any advice please whether it be feed (have tried so many things) or exercises that could be used.

Thanks
S

She is very fit. She is worked most days (min 5) a week mostly schooling for 40 mins to an hour. She has the recommended amount (from A&P nutritionist) so about 1-1.5 kgs per day split into 2 feeds.

I also compete min twice a month (planning to do more now spring is here).

Thanks for the quick reply

Also, have you had her checked out physically? A hock problem or other physical pain can manefest itself in a lack of impulsion.

She has had oats before and didn't seem to do an awful lot but feed has changed since so could be worth another go.

I have lessons every now and then. Sometimes once a month sometimes more often and instructor hasn't picked up on any exercises etc. It is usually jumping too
