, but, I only have one ring. It was my engagement ring, then became my wedding ring. Only ever wanted one ring y'see

. I think it makes it easier 'cos, whilst there are diamonds in it, they don't stand proud of the gold and there's not lots of fiddly bit to catch dirt.

I only take mine off when I go to bed! Mine are a good fit and (touch wood) have never slipped off or got caught in 16 years! I couldn't ride with them on without gloves though as they would rub, but I always ride in gloves so no prob. Mind you both my rings were bought when we were students so they are only valuable in a sentimental way.

I always wear my wedding ring. I haven't worn my engagement ring for years since a diamond fell out, but if it was still wearable I don't think the yard would be an ideal environment, at least not ours, with all the mud and filth to get caught in the setting.

I have known two people to lose a ring finger when they have caught their ring and degloved their finger

Both were men, and neither accidents were riding related.

I got engaged a couple of months ago and wear my ring all the time. Day after i got engaged i rang my OH, as a joke, saying i'd dropped ring on the muck heap!! (It want insured at this stage!). turns out jokes about the ring are not appreciated....!!!

I want to wear it all the time and so i always wear to the yard, although i try to wear gloves as much as possible. Thing to remember is that diamonds and platinum (on my ring anyway or gold etc) are incredibly hard and it would be difficult to damage them. So, as long as it fits well, i'd wear all the time

Always wear my wedding ring.If I think about it I take off my engagement ring, but not very often. Before we were married and I only had my engagement ring I wore it all of the time.

No. Never, ever wear a ring around horses or the farm.

Never have, never will.

I have seen too many bent rings and skinned fingers to risk it (not being a fan of pain) OH never wears his ring either, working with heavy machinery he'd be daft to. One of the nastiest degloved fingers I witnessed was when the ring got caught on a curb hook and the horse went beserk, gruesome.

I may remember to put one on if I am going out, but OH did point out the other day that for some Freudian reason I wear my rings on my right hand rather than my left anyway

Nothing Freudian about it, I just can't remember which hand it goes on.

I have been married 22 years and I have yet to take my ring off. I even work with drafts, hitching, unhitching, driving, riding, etc and still that ring will stay on my finger. I am proud to be married, proud of my husband and want the world to know.

I never wear a wedding ring at all, haven't since my arthritis got bad in my joints around 20 years ago!! but then neither does my OH. I don't wear any other jewellery except a silver heart around my neck when going out ( birthday pressie from my daughter

No..... learnt the hard way when a yard manager and bedding down event horses with extra deep beds! Lost both my engagement ring and wedding band and 4 of us took 3 hours to pick every bit of straw out and shavings and find them!!!! Cold hands... rings gone! Also knew a person who got theirs caught on a door handle and ripped all the skin off! Doing anything remotely like this the ring comes off! I have caught mine and had to have it re shaped. If on any social occassion/shopping wear them both.

No, don't wear them around horses at all. I only tend to wear them if I'm going out in public somewhere, i.e. not around the house, & take them off again when I get in.

Same here. I know two older ladies with stumps due to horse related accidents. They both learnt the hard way!

I have quite a large ring with the stone standing proud of the setting. I never take it or my wedding ring off, it's never even occurred to me that it may be dangerous. It's full of dirt and the stone looks very grubby (cos it is)but I would never take it off because it means so much!

Both my rings fit well and I can't get either of them off without a struggle. My engagment was purposfully chosen for its 'neatness' so it wouldn't get caught on things, neither ring has been a problem yet. I live and work on a farm and keep my horses there, so they're on DIY.

My husband has lost 1 wedding ring whilst doing an internal examination on a pregnant cow.

I have wedding ring, eternity ring and engagement ring, none of which I wear at the farm. I did miss my wedding ring so I bought a cheap (Elizabeth Duke at Argos) plain wedding band which I wear most of the time, esp during the week. U try to wear gloves when at the horses though.

If I am going out it is diamonds all the way.

When I was in hospital the lady in the bed next to me had de-gloved her (wedding band) finger. It was a really serious injury and it was touch and go if she would loose her finger. She had to have constant care for 48 hours while they found out if the skin graft would take and she was in soooo much pain. Her hand was checked every hour so poor soul had no sleep for 48 hours.

I have to add though that this wasn't a riding/horse related accident. She was standing on the ledge on a skip trying to reach higher to thow something into the skip when her wedding ring caught on a raised bit of metal. When she jumped down, her finger didn't. Not nice.

I was in hospital for 3 weeks and saw a lot of people with different injuries and diseases but I think hers was the most painful.

Sorry to waffle on but I think what I am trying to say is that it is not just riding/yard duties that you can catch your hand on.

I always wear mine, tbh i never take it off, but my hubby has to because hes an engineer so he leaves it in his locker in the day and then when we go to sort the horses out if he needs to do fencing etc he puts it in the glove box off the car just incase.

Yep.

Wedding, eternity and engagement rings on left hand and signet ring and little finger ring on right.

I'm mindful if accidents, (signet ring has an interesting bend in it where it got caught on something but fortunately only grazed my finger) but never take any of them off.

In fact, having just tried, signet ring (18th b/day present and not off in all those years) won't come off anyway!

I wear my ring all the time even when working and so far nothing has happened to me *touches wood furiously* and hopefully never will. i love my ring and dont like to go without it. My OH on the other hand always forgets hers :KD

Yes, I never take my wedding ring off. In fact, I don't think I can get it off......it has a rub over set diamond in it and I chose this setting because it was durable and good for yard work.

I never remove my wedding ring - I have been married for 15 years. I have only taken it off when my hands got fat during my 3 pregnancies. I don't have an engagement ring. My wedding ring is cheapest of the cheap, bought for buttons just before we married because we were so poor back in those days.
